Interventional Radiology is an image guided surgery in which minimally invasive procedures are performed. Interventional Radiology procedures often replace open surgical procedures. They are generally easier for the patient because they minimize trauma to the patient, involve no large incisions, less risk, reduce infection rates and recovery times which translates to shorter hospital stays and overall reduced costs.
